Mailsort Basics

Mailsort is a group of services offered by Royal Mail to enable organisations producing large volumes of mail to access reduced mailing costs.

Mailsort comes in a number of different 'flavours', but all effectively work on a share the work and reduce the cost basis. What this effectively means is that by undertaking allot of the sorting for Royal Mail or making Royal Mails job easier they give a discount over the standard tariff cost of 1st or 2nd class mail.

Below you will find a quick over view or Royal Mails Mailsort packages and while it is aimed at high volume mailers it is possible to achieve discounts on volumes as low as 1000 packs depending on the design of the pack.
